December 2022

This year the band are proud to present a festive double! We have been working hard on our Christmas Concert Programme, a musical retelling of Charles Dicken's classic A Christmas Carol and will be performing it on two separate occasions. Please join us on 3rd December at St Andrew's Methodist Church in Torquay, or on Wednesday 7th December at Preston Baptist Church.

September 2022

A small ensemble from Bay Brass attended the Proclamation Ceremony at Torquay Town Hall on Sunday 11th September where we were honoured to play the National Anthem to mark the passing of Queen Elizabeth II and the accession of King Charles III.

May 2022

We are pleased to confirm our first concert of the year will take place on Saturday 14th May at St Luke's Church, Milber, Newton Abbot. We will be performing a varied programme of music from films, musicals, original compositions for brass band and many more. Please contact us for more information.

April 2022

The band held it's AGM on Wednesday 6th April where we welcomed principal trombone player Phil King as our new Chairman. Phil's first job in his new role was the presentation of the band awards.

Steve Dayment won the bandperson of the year and Ann Goolding was presented with the 'Just Because' award for all of her hard work as treasurer for numerous years and for all of her efforts within the organisation of the band. Well done both!

Our Musical Director spoke in last night's AGM about the growth and development of the band over the last year, maintaining full sections and adding new players, even in challenging times during the pandemic.

January 2022

Following the Christmas holidays, and subsequent 'Omicron' enforced break, we're pleased to say that our rehearsals will be resuming again on Wednesday 26th January, 7.30pm at our Bandroom in Shiphay. New players are always welcome so, if you're looking for a new band, have taken up playing after a break or a looking to learn a brass instrument then please get in touch.
